In September 2024 we launched our inaugural Professional Networking event. Here are profiles of our Industry Experts who kindly and ably shared their experiences with fellow OSE that evening.

JAMIE McEWEN (Tilly’s, 1996-2001) MANAGING DIRECTOR – MANPOWER UK
PROFESSIONAL NETWORK
J amie currently sits as part of the UK senior leadership team for Manpower and leads their executive function called Integral. Manpower is one of the world's leading recruitment companies placing over 3.4million candidates a year globally and with revenue over $22billion. In the UK Jamie's team placed over 10,000 permanent candidates and 35,000 temporary workers in 2023 across a variety of industries ranging from financial services to defence. Jamie has over 20 years' experience working within the financial and professional services sector, as an executive headhunter and consultant to senior leaders including a period of time serving as Head of Talent for the Investment Bank and Asset Management arm of UBS. After leaving Teddies in 2001, Jamie undertook his undergraduate degree at Durham University.
PETEBROWN BSc (Hons) MBBS MRCGP (Cowell’s, 1996-2001) GENERAL PRACTITIONER P ete left Teddies in 2001 and went to Imperial College School of Medicine following a gap year. He qualified as a doctor and completed his junior doctor training years in London. Pete has been a GP since 2015 and now works as a GP Partner in Wimbledon Village. Since 2021, Pete has also been the Club Doctor for the All England Lawn Tennis Club during the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, looking after the players and their teams. In addition to these clinical roles he is a Clinical Director for the Northwest Merton Primary Care Network and a Corporate Director sitting on the board of the local GP Federation, Merton Health. Alongside his professional career, Jamie is also a keen rower – he rowed for Teddies in the crew that won the Princess Elizabeth Challenge Cup in 1999 – and represented Great Britain in the same year. More recently, Jamie reunited with the Teddies 1999 crew for the anniversary row-past at Henley this year! Jamie is also a current parent at Teddies with his eldest daughter Saskia.
