environmental lawyer Kathryn Rae, founded theWild Camel Protection Foundation (WCPF) in 1997 to save the critically endangered wild camel which lives in the Gobi Desert. Over the years, much has been achieved with the establishment of a reserve in China and a breeding centre in Mongolia. Starting with 8 wild camels in 2004, the breeding centre now holds 35 with an additional eight having been released into their natural habitat, where the last remnant population of approximately 450 wild camels survive.This breeding centre is the only place in the world where a captive wild camel population is held. The work of WCPF was featured on David Attenborough’s Perfect Planet which aired on BBC 1 in January. In 2017, John was awarded an OBE for his work.

HEALY, MOLLY (Mac’s, 2010-2015) Molly is a Communications, Operations and Projects Assistant at Haberdashers’ Aske’s Federation which is a multi-academy trust of four secondary and five primary schools in south-east London. She is also still finding time to run marathons! Nick is Assistant Travelling Lad for Jonjo O’Neill Racing, a racehorse training yard renowned in the UK and Ireland.
