We were delighted to welcome Turtle Opera back to the Ogston Music School.The organisation is a music and performance programme for young people with autistic spectrum disorders, who base themselves at the School each year as they build towards a performance for family and friends.

May Day Madrigals were sung early in the morning by senior choristers from the roof of Cowell’s.

The sailing team competed at the National School Sailing Association regatta in July.

SCHOOL NEWS

There were successes for the Athletics Team in their track and field events at Harrow, Radley and Marlborough at which the Senior and Junior Boys won the Nitro competition.

Last September we were delighted to open our landmark new development – The Christie Centre.The building houses new classrooms, the Oxley Library, The stunning Roe Reading Room andWillows Café, named by the Prefects after Kenneth Grahame OSE’s well-known tale TheWind in theWillows .

Boys’ Cricket had an excellent season with the 1st XI winning the John Harvey Cup, the boys’ JCAs winning the County Cup and the boys’ U17 squad qualifying for the semi-finals of the National Cricketer Paper Cup.

This whole development was carefully designed to complement the way in which modern learning takes place, and we have seen the spaces teeming with life and new ideas this year, bringing a new academic heart to the school.

Cooper Lodge opened on Field Side to become our first purpose built co-educational Boarding House.

In November a Remembrance Service was held in the Calvary Quad.
