OSE at Work 1969 Robin Allan (G, 1965-1969) sends details of Sugarloaf Lodge, a stylish custom-built bed and breakfast where guests can enjoy privacy and comfort in beautiful surroundings. The Lodge is nestled on two hectares of lush countryside and orchards, near the delightful village of Matakana, which is under one hour north of Auckland City, and has stunning sweeping views over the Omaha valley and out to the islands of the Hauraki Gulf. A comment left in the guestbook reads ‘What a special place .... and those remarkable views. We were lucky to find this quietly sophisticated gem.’ www.sugarloaflodge.co.nz

1998 Sophie Baxter (née Lavender) (J, 1997-1998) set up a London-based PA and secretarial recruitment company called Lavender Jones Recruitment - www.lavenderjones.co.uk - after her first daughter was born and she is now back at work following Florence’s arrival. The company source admin staff for SME businesses across all industries from finance to fashion as well as private PAs for busy individuals. Francis Heybrook (D, 1993-1998) and his wife Diana Diaz Nieto are living in Galicia, Northern Spain. They have chosen this unspoilt region to set up an innovative language camps business www.4elementsgalicia.com which welcomes students from excellent schools both in the UK and Spain. The camp works like a live-in exchange: Spanish and English children spend all their time together enjoying immersive activities against the backdrop of inspiring rugged landscapes. Continuous and active collaboration with their peers fosters friendships and language and cultural exchange happen naturally. The nationalities are only separated for intensive language workshops which are designed in collaboration with their school teachers to give the children confidence for effective communication. Francis fondly remembers his 1st XV days at Teddies and thanks Mike Stanfield (G, 1955- 1960) and Ed Hobart (K, 1985-1989) who enabled him to further his A level interest in Spanish under Vaughan Abigail (MCR) by organising a life-changing gap year in Cuba teaching rugby to Olympic athletes and English at the University of Havana. He has moved around the world from Cuba, to Colombia, to Argentina and now resides with his family on the coast near Santiago de Compostela.
