OSE WWI Transcriptions from the Archives

25: C. V. Rawlence – H.M.M.D Celerity, Wick – 20 Jan 1916 Dear Mr Sing, You will have been expecting to see me again but, I’m afraid I shall not a chance for some time as I came up here last week to join a patrol boat. I’ve not been out yet as I find the Celerity in for a fortnight refit when I got here. However, we hope to be out again before long. She’s a fishing boat in ordinary times, but my predecessor has fitted up quite a comfortable cabin in her. I suppose you know this part of the world well – it’s all quite new to me and it’s interesting being up here. Tho’ I gather I’ve struck one of the very best boats there is. Yours ever, C. V. Rawlence
