As a youngster growing up playing cricket I always relished the opportunities presented to play against English touring sides. For me, it was a great way to gauge where my cricket was at in comparison to other junior cricketers around the world. Over the years, many teams have enjoyed touring Barbados, not only because of the great standard of cricket, but we can usually boast of wonderful hospitality. I’m sure today our Barbadian cricketers feel the same way about playing against English touring teams, and I can safely say that what has been evident is the opportunity of scholarships to England for many of our young
