averaging 68.80. Aimee is the first girl at the School to score 100 on Upper 1, during a historic day against Cheltenham. Shell, Suri Shah opened the batting with Aimee all year, averaging 41.67. On two occasions, they batted the whole 20 overs without us losing a wicket, with stands of 181 and 168. Lottie Allen ended the season as the top wicket taker with 20 wickets, closely followed by other seamers Isla Scott Dalgleish and Mallory Ross. The girls’ T20 cup run came to the end at King Edward’s School, Southampton, in July. They lost to the eventual double National Champions, Ipswich by 5 wickets, and Repton School. Congratulations to Liberty Simmonds, Emily Latham, Aimee Diab and Freya Heath for

success, with both the 1st XIs celebrating victories against Oxfordshire U18 sides. It has without a doubt been the best girls’ 1st XI cricket season on record, with the team emerging victorious in 10 competitive fixtures, only losing to one side at the beginning of the season who they went on to beat twice, showcasing their improvement over the course of the Summer Term. We have played against some strong cricket schools including Bradfield, Rugby, St Helen and St Katharine and Taunton School. It’s been a team effort, with girls chipping in across all year groups. Aimee Diab, the Captain of the 1st XI for the second year running, has truly led from the front, scoring 688 runs

2024 has been a season with many successes and greatly improved results across the whole of the Cricket Club. The girls’ 1st XI made it to the National T20 finals day, finishing fourth nationally. The boys’ 1st XI got through to the National T20 quarter-finals, losing to a strong Millfield side, having won the South Region against Canford School. The U15 girls played in a national quarter-final in the 100 Ball competition, winning four games along the way to get there. The U14 boys became County Champions, winning their final at Wormsley against Abingdon - they will progress to the regionals next April.
