DAVID CANE SCORES 170 RUNS AGAINST THE CRYPTICS - A SCHOOL RECORD AT THE TIME CANE ACCUMULATES 490 RUNS FOR THE SEASON AT AN AVERAGE OF 41 AND TAKES 6 WICKETS FOR 70 RUNS AGAINST STOWE SCHOOL THE XI IS ALMOST ENTIRELY MADE UP OF DEBUTANTS, WITH ONLY TWO EXPERIENCED PLAYERS IN THE SIDE DAVID CANE THE CAPTAIN IS BY FAR THE MOST EXPERIENCED AT THIS LEVEL BEING HIS THIRD SEASON IN THE SIDE DESPITE A STRONG BATTING SIDE (4 BATSMEN NOTCH UP MORE THAN 400 RUNS EACH FOR THE SEASON) ONLY ONE VICTORY IS GAINED CHRISTOPHER SHARP (AGED 15) AND JAMES KELLEY (JUST 16) TOIL WITHOUT MUCH SUCCESS, BOTH PLAYERS WILL PLAY FOR 3 YEARS NICHOLAS GOLDSON THE WICKETKEEPER ALSO SCORES 336 RUNS FOR THE SEASON INCLUDING 29 SIXIES!
